About Me:
I'm sensing a shedding of my former self, though not altogether certain as to who the new self is becoming. There is a heightened interest in philosophy and new biological theory. Casting aside the friends who sifted out of the pan for whatever reason, appreciating the gold remaining. Learning to see the new face in the mirror, the one with a small wrinkle or two. Watching signals from my new self in my art work, in the way I think about life and society in general… just watching. And working. And looking out the window at the thick trees outside and being happy I can see em.
I'm desperately trying to return to vegetarianism, especially after forcing myself to watch a video (narrated by Alec Baldwin) that shows all the types of animals and the cruel processes their industries utilize. I just grew up with meat, and still like to eat it… I'm starting with organically-processed and working my way out. (feel free to gross me out with more footage!)
I'm also trying to shed judgment, which I harbor for the selfish, the close-minded, those who lack conscience… I love EVERYONE superficially, but sometimes I find out who a person is, that they're not what they claim to stand for, and get turned off and even a little mad. I'm working on that… I care too much, I guess, but it doesn't change anybody for the better. I'm really forgiving, anyway, and not petty.
I'm often not a calm person. I like being a kid… Inner peace is fine, but sometimes I enjoy the turmoil :) There are always lots of things going on in my head at once.
I enjoy diffferences; I don't just accept them. I love when people are not like me, culturally, sexual orientation, etc. Who wants to be the same as everyone else? We're more rounded people when we can imagine the experiences of others. I can't wait for the masses to rise who see the importance of personal differences and freedoms, and fights those who wish to oppress those freedoms.
I'd like to see a more socially/morally-conscious attitude in our commercial business practices. I'd like to engage in as much local trade as possible, and bring the “global” transition back to a more sustainable “village.”
